If you are looking for a place to stay near Gate 6, you have several options to choose from. UJ has 24 residences across four campuses, and some of them are located near Gate 6 on the APK campus. Afslaan Sports Residence: This residence is for students who participate in sports at UJ. It has 120 beds and offers single rooms with shared bathrooms. It also has a common room, a kitchen, and a dining hall. The residence is located next to the sports bureau and the rugby field.

Student Town
Another attraction near Gate 6 is the Student Town, which is a vibrant and lively area where students can socialize, relax, shop, eat, and have fun. Student Town is located on Akademie Road, opposite the service block. It has a variety of facilities and services, such as:

Student Centre: This is the heart of Student Town, where students can find the student governance office, the student affairs office, the student counselling and career development unit, the student health clinic, the student finance office, the student enrolment centre, and the student academic development centre. The student centre also has a cafeteria, a coffee shop, a bookshop, a bank, a post office, a hair salon, and a travel agency.
Library: This is the main library of UJ, which has over 1.5 million books, journals, e-resources, and multimedia materials. The library also has study spaces, computer labs, printing and photocopying services, and Wi-Fi access. The library is open from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Arts Centre: This is the cultural hub of UJ, where students can enjoy various artistic and creative activities. The arts centre has a theatre, an art gallery, a music studio, a dance studio, and a drama studio. The arts centre also hosts regular events, such as concerts, exhibitions, workshops, festivals, and competitions.
Sports Centre: This is the physical fitness centre of UJ, where students can exercise and play various sports. Service Block
The Service Block is another important facility near Gate 6. It is located on Akademie Road next to Student Town. It houses several administrative and academic departments of UJ. Some of these departments are:

If you are driving to Gate 6, you will need to find a place to park your vehicle. There are several parking areas near Gate 6, but they have different capacities and rules. Here are some of the parking areas near Gate 6:
A Ring Parking: This is a large parking area located on the north side of the campus, near the main entrance. It has about 1000 parking bays and is open to all staff and students with valid parking permits. It is also accessible from Gate 4 on Ditton Avenue.
B Parking: This is a medium-sized parking area located on the east side of the campus, near the engineering laboratories. It has about 500 parking bays and is open to all staff and students with valid parking permits. It is also accessible from Gate 2 on Ditton Avenue.
C Parking: This is a small parking area located on the south side of the campus, near the service block and the student town. It has about 200 parking bays and is reserved for staff only with valid parking permits. It is also accessible from Gate 4 on Ditton Avenue.
D Parking: This is a small parking area located on the west side of the campus, near the sports bureau and the residences. It has about 100 parking bays and is reserved for residents only with valid parking permits. It is also accessible from Gate 6 on Akademie Road.
Off-Campus Parking: This is an extra parking area located outside the campus, near the Lancaster Avenue pedestrian bridge. It has about 300 parking bays and is open to all staff and students with valid parking permits. It is also accessible from Gate 1 on Kingsway Avenue.
When you park your vehicle, make sure you follow the rules and regulations of UJ. Some of these rules are:
Display your valid parking permit clearly on your vehicle.
Park only in designated parking bays and do not block other vehicles or entrances.
Do not park in reserved or disabled parking bays unless you have the appropriate authorization.
Do not park in fire lanes, loading zones, or emergency areas.
Do not park overnight or for longer than 24 hours without permission.
Do not park in a way that causes damage or inconvenience to other vehicles or property.
Do not park in a way that poses a security risk or a safety hazard to yourself or others.
Sports Bureau
If you are interested in sports and physical activities, you should visit the Sports Bureau, which is located near Gate 6 on the west side of the campus.
